The Public Chamber was forced to cancel their planned picket in support of the immediate release of political prisoners in Sumgait city, which had been scheduled for today at 2pm in front of the Sumgait Executive Power. However, the local executive power blocked all the roads in that direction, and deployed large numbers of police officers. The event had not been officially sanctioned by the Executive Power. Synchrone We planned a picket for today to protest against the pressures on political parties operating in Sumgait. We planned to demand normal working conditions for those political parties. But the authorities refused to give permission for the picket and so the Public Chamber had to cancel it.
