On the afternoon, May 25th a group of pro-government youth organizations held a protest in front of the house of Ali Karimli, the chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party. The protesters introduced themselves as university students. They used bullhorns to shout slogans condemning Ali Karimli's recent speech on Iran-Azerbaijan relations at the Public Chamber opposition coalition's press conference several days ago. They urged him to leave the country. They held posters reading "Ali Karimli is the enemy of Eurovision!", "Ali Karimli is a traitor!", "Ali Karimli + Iran = terror", "Karimli, don't try to spoil Eurovision!", and so on. Police did not intervene in the protest; they simply called on the youth to disperse after they had called out their slogans. Karimli and his family members were at home during the protest.
